#MauiSMUG is Open to Everyone Interested in Social Media!

MauiSMUGI had a disturbing Facebook conversation with a friend the other day. I mentioned MauiSMUG and asked if he might be interested in coming to the meeting this Thursday. We met on Twitter, and I know he’s been using social media for a while, so I thought he’d be an asset to the group. His response was that he had seen the tweets going around, but no one had invited him, so he was feeling a little left out.

This was disturbing because it had never occurred to me (or any of us, I think) to actually invite anyone to the meetings. It’s a users group we started by popular demand as a result of the High Tech Maui workshops we’ve been conducting over the last year-and-a-half, so we just assumed whoever wanted to come would just come.

So, allow me to officially invite everyone visiting or living on Maui to our Maui Social Media Users Group meetings whenever they are held. The next one is this Thursday. Full details at MauiSMUG.com.

This OUR users group; an In-Real-Life forum where we can all talk story (as we do in Hawai‘i) and help each other solve problems in our use of social media.

There is a charge, but that’s only because we’re having it catered by Soup To Nuts. All the panelists, including myself, are volunteering their time.

We’re extra fortunate that this upcoming meeting is being taped by Jess Craven of Self Made in Hawaii on OC16 for an upcoming episode.

Hope to see you there!
