It’s been a little more than a year since I started at Bump Networks. One of the consequences of taking on an office job is I sit at a desk most of the time. When I was freelancing, I had desk hours, but I had the freedom to get up, walk around, go wherever I wanted, and get a little fresh air and exercise if I felt like it. The result is I’ve put on a few pounds and my pants don’t fit as well as they used to.
I hate going to the gym. In fact, I hate indoor exercise of any kind. I always have. In fact, I’m not really a fan of exercise at all, but it’s a necessary evil, especially for a guy over-50 with a history of poor health stats.
About a month ago, it occurred to me that I’d never explored the town I live in on foot. You’d think that after nine years, I’d know every nook and cranny, but I’d actually never walked more than about a mile from wherever my car was parked. So, I started walking. I call them MauiWalks. And of course, being who I am, I can’t go anywhere without making photographs.
Here are a few I took with my iPhone 5S. Keep an eye out for the #MauiWalk hashtag on Twitter and Instagram. Where should I walk next?
