Looking up at Haleakala before getting in the car, I was hoped that dark cloud wouldn’t hang around. I really wanted to catch the supermoon-rise at twilight, and that would have been the best vantage point.

As I got to the park gate, I knew it was a lost cause, but sometimes, you get lucky with a pocket of clear sky, so I went all the way to the summit. No joy. I tweeted from the parking lot so other photographers wouldn’t waste their time trying.

Then I drove to the beach near our house and caught the sunset instead… ->

I’ve finally gotten into iPhoneography. I’m a little late to the party, but I’m enjoying it immensely. It’s weird producing quality photos without a DSLR in my hand, but it’s amazingly rewarding… and fun!
